What type of art should I do?

Q: I need a hobby....so i was thinking about doing something artsy. I am thinking about stained glass windows but that might not occupy too much of my time if i finish it in a little amount of time. What else could I do that would take a lot of time to finish? Thanks!

Well, if money and time are not an object, then stained-glass windows seems like it would be a lot of fun :)
Personally, I took up photography last spring and it is unbelievably addictive! But try developing the pictures yourself.

How to hang stained 10 pound glass under bay window?

Q: the bay window is encased in oak wood, the top where I want to hang the glass is wood, I am not sure what is underneath

BEAVERTON -- A 200-year-old oak tree inspired the stained-glass artist who created chapel windows for the new building that the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon will open in September.

Artist Ron Rogers of Beaverton admired the oak and nearby trees whenever he drove by the Sisters' 43-acre Valley Catholic School campus at Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway and Murray Boulevard.

Light is truly the inspiration for stained glass in both the physical and literal senses. In the course of the Gothic Era from about 1150 – 1500 A.D. there was no electricity so alternate ways of lighting Cathedrals was important. Immense and exquisite stained glass windows had been produced and intended to give physical light by allowing in significantly needed sunlight, but they were also intended to present spiritual light. The King James Version of the Bible in John 8:12 says ‘Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I’m the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.’ Jesus was the inspiration for and his life, gruesome death and subsequent resurrection were the subject of the majority of stained glass windows produced throughout that period in history.
