When The New Paper spoke to a woman resident last week, she said that the large number of cars coming to the estate to park made it dangerous for the children in the neighbourhood to play on the streets.

The mother of teenagers said: "That's why we keep the signs up, to ensure that they park in the designated areas... We just want our area safe. We don't want a carpark here."

She said the reason they were on flower pots and cones was so that the signs blend in and are not so intimidating.
